About Jeana

Hello. I'm Jeana Goodwin. I grew up in a small farming town in the state of Washington. I was either riding a mule or driving a combine. As a child, my parents gave me the opportunity to rodeo. This was my ticket out of the field and into my big dreams of being a rodeo competitor. I had big aspirations and was always looking for a leg up on competition. I learned that if I watched each cast leave the chute and write down how it broke and ran, I would have a better chance of winning the round. Nowadays, with technology, my own daughter refuses to write down stock notes with a pen and paper. In 2019, I was traveling to a pro rodeo with Jennifer Casey, my podcast cohost, to compete in the breakaway roping. We talked about how it would be nice to know if we were still in the running for a previous rodeo we had been to and what the outcome was, or even if the calves had changed over the last couple of rounds. This led me to the idea of creating an app to give contestants an opportunity to organize performance notes, communicate with each other, have the ability to sell and advertise livestock. Along with competition coaching, creating this app would allow contestants to take the oldest sport on dirt and modernize it together. Jen and I are helping women of the western world better themselves with grit, grace and gratitude through our podcast, the Jen and Jeana show. Thank you for listening in. Hope you guys enjoy it and learn something along the way.

About Jennifer

Hello. I am Jennifer Casey. I grew up in the Columbia Basin in eastern Washington. From a very young age, my steadfast goal has been to compete in the breakaway roping at a professional level. High school rodeo provided the opportunity to work on my roping skills while making lifelong friends. I then attended Washington State University, where I continued my roping career at the collegiate level. Between my sophomore junior years at Washington State, I was in a barrier accident in Sedro Woolley, Washington, in which I was pulled from my horse and kicked on the way down. I don't remember the day and spent the rest of the summer in a haze. This incident directed my path to becoming a physical therapist so I could put my pieces back together. As a physical therapist, I have a vast working knowledge of how the body works, what it needs to function, and how to put it into action. I have used my experience and knowledge with breakaway roping, horsemanship and Physical therapy to develop the brain body method. This method uses a holistic approach to meeting the clients where they are at, giving them the just right challenge and applying it to their roping skills. I truly believe that roping is vastly more than just our right hand. Together, Gina and I are helping women in the Western industry better themselves with grit, grace and gratitude through our podcast, The Jan and Gina Show. I hope that you listen with an open mind to the possibilities that are available to break our ropers inside and outside the arena to help improve themselves. I'm excited to share our thoughts and knowledge with.
